Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

Otti is a private memory book for two. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

If you have questions, contact us at hello@meetotti.com.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect information needed to sign you in and run your account, such as your user ID, name, email address if provided by Apple, authentication tokens, and basic account settings.

Journal content

Otti stores the memories you and your partner add to your shared journal. This may include text, titles, photos, dates, optional location information, and related metadata such as who added a memory and when it was created.

Partner and invite information

We collect information needed to create and manage your shared journal, including partner names, membership roles, invite links or codes, invite status, and join history.

Photos and media

If you add photos, we upload and store those photos so they can appear in your shared journal. We may create signed links or temporary access URLs so your app can display the media.

Location information

If you choose to add a place to a memory, we store the location name and coordinates for that memory. Otti does not require location for normal use.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store your push notification token, notification permission state, reminder preferences, and time zone so reminders can arrive at an appropriate time.

Purchases

If you purchase Otti Plus, purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive information needed to unlock your subscription, such as entitlement status, product identifiers, purchase status, and related subscription events. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Analytics and diagnostics

We may collect app usage events, performance information, crash reports, and diagnostic logs to understand whether Otti is working and to improve the app. These may include device and app information such as app version, operating system version, device type, session identifiers, and error details.

Support communications

If you contact us, we collect the information you send, such as your email address and message, so we can respond.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Create and sync your shared journal.
  • Save, display, and organize memories.
  • Let partners join by invite.
  • Upload, store, and display photos.
  • Show memory locations when you choose to add them.
  • Send reminders and account notifications if enabled.
  • Manage Otti Plus subscriptions and entitlements.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Prevent abuse, investigate security issues, and enforce our terms.
  • Measure reliability, diagnose crashes, and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your journal content for advertising.

How Information Is Shared

Otti is designed for two people. Memories in a journal are visible to the two members of that journal.

We also share information with service providers that help operate Otti, including:

  • Supabase, for authentication, database, realtime sync, and backend functions.
  • Cloudflare R2, for media storage.
  • RevenueCat and Apple, for subscriptions and purchase status.
  • Apple Push Notification service, for push notifications.
  • PostHog, if enabled, for product analytics.
  • Sentry, if enabled, for crash and error reporting.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Your Choices

Notifications

You can turn reminders off in Otti or in iOS Settings.

Location

You can choose not to add a place to a memory. You can also control location permission in iOS Settings.

Photos

You choose which photos to add. You can control photo access in iOS Settings.

Subscription

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple account. You can manage or cancel an Otti Plus subscription in the App Store subscription settings.

Account and Journal Deletion

You can request account deletion in the app. When you request account deletion, we immediately remove your app access, revoke device tokens where possible, remove your active membership, and schedule permanent deletion or anonymization of personal data after a 30-day retention period.

Journal owners can request deletion of a shared journal. When journal deletion is requested, the journal disappears from the app and is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day retention period, including memories, invites, media records, and stored media where possible.

Some information may be retained longer if required for legal, security, billing, dispute, fraud-prevention, or backup reasons.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect Otti. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Otti is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact hello@meetotti.com.

International Use

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice in the app or on our website.
